AT FIRST he hated her. She was arrogant, high class, looked down on him, and generally everything March likes stabbing even without the Canary bonus. He doesn’t like being treated as a lesser being, even if he’ll casually refer to himself as a street rat and what not to troll other people.
And then they kept talking and he realized she was really

March has gone from debating murdering her everytime she opens his mouth to casually talking to her because he finds it hilarious to convince Duchess of ridiculous shit. He feels in control of the situation because she just cannot get a read on him, and continually throws him treats of secrets, canary team workings and closets, which leads to him winding down on the aggression because he believes even if he accidentally slips up and reveals something she won’t catch it, and the more they talk the more he gets on her.
So 90% I AM TOTALLY AN EVIL MASTERMIND USING YOU and 10% holy shit I should not be enjoying talking you into things half as much as I am.
